Stauning Smoke embodies the distillery's innovative New Nordic-whisky philosophy, crafting a mildly smoked single malt whisky from pure local ingredients. Malted on open floors, smoked over locally harvested peat and heather found in the landscape surrounding Stauning. Matured for 5 to 6 years in a mix of 1st Fill bourbon casks, 1st Fill Madeira casks, 1st Fill Jamaica Rum casks and Virgin American Oak casks
The result is an elegant and refined whisky with a gentle smoky taste. A complex character that oozes of the dunes, the heath and the wind by the North Sea. A thoroughbred terroir whisky.

The taste of buzzing bees and the heather of the moorland in a bottle. A gentle bonfire smoke blends with elegant notes of citrus and honey. In the mouth, a rich taste of tobacco, nuts, vanilla and fresh herbs opens up.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
