Teeling Distillery was established in Newmarket Square, Dublin in 2015, by Jack and Stephen Teeling. It is the first new whiskey distillery to have opened in Ireland's capital in over 125 years. The founders' father, John Teeling, founded the Cooley Distillery in 1987, and the family's involvement in the industry dates back to the late 18th century, when Walter Teeling founded a distillery on Dublin's Marrowbone Lane. The brand symbolises the re-establishment of the Teeling Whiskey brand with a phoenix rising from a pot still.
After working with their father at Cooley, Jack and Stephen decided to leave to lauch their own whiskey. Upon the sale of Cooley to Beam Suntory in 2011, the Teelings purchased 16,000 casks of whiskey, and used these stocks to launch the brand in 2012.
The brothers' vision was to bring innovation and a new perspective to the traditional Irish whiskey scene, particularly focusing on craftsmanship and unique maturation techniques. The distillery has embraced modern practices while honouring the heritage of Irish whiskey production. Teeling is known for its commitment to quality, small-batch production, and experimentation with cask maturation.
This Small Batch edition has been made using hand-selected casks of grain and malt whiskey, which are initially fully aged in Ex-Bourbon barrels, then married together in Central American Rum casks for up to 12 months. A unique, dried fruit profile. Non chill filtered and full of natural character.

Nose - Floral, vanilla sweetness, rum-raisin and allspice.
Palate - Creamy, dried fruits, warming spice.
Finish - Long warming finish with balanced oak and spice.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
