Tullibardine Distillery is located in Blackford,
Perthshire. Tullibardine’s history of brewing and distilling dates back to 1488, when King James IV of Scotland stopped by the site, a brewery at the time, to purchase beer. This was recorded as the first public purchase of beer in Scotland.
William Delme-Evans, a distillery specialist, founded the distillery in 1949. William found that the mineral rich character and purity of the water from nearby springs situated in Perthshire’s Ochil Hills was perfect for distillation. The Ochil Hills are well known for the gold that was once mined from them.
In 1995, its then owner, Whyte and Mackay, mothballed it, but Tullibardine Distillery Ltd resumed production after acquiring it in 2003. Picard Vins & Spiritueux, a French firm, took over the company in 2011. The distillery is now thriving with a cooperage, maturation warehouses, blending facility and a bottling line all located on-site.
Barrels, or 'Pièces' as they are called in Burgundy, vary in volume from one region to another. This is due to the tradition and local history of winemaking. In Burgundy, a 'pièce' holds 228 litres. Following a lengthy maturation in ex-Bourbon Oak casks, the Tullibardine 228 Burgundy Cask Finish underwent a re-casking process into 228-liter Burgundy barrels sourced from the renowned Château de Chassagne-Montrachet.

Nose - Features red cherries and vanilla with hints of chocolate and Turkish Delight.
Palate - A real hint of red summer fruit, more chocolate and a sweet spice note on the finish.
