In its early years, Glenmorangie operated as a small-scale distillery. By the late 19th century, it began to gain a good reputation. The distillery underwent several ownership changes throughout the 20th century. In 1918, the Macdonald family, through their company Macdonald and Muir, acquired Glenmorangie. The family played a crucial role in expanding the distillery's production capacity and market reach. Today, the company is operated by Moet Hennessy, who acquired the brand in 2004.
Glenmorangie is famous for its exceptionally tall stills, which stand at 8 meters. These tall stills are among the tallest in Scotland and contribute to the whisky’s distinctive light and complex character.
Part of Glenmorangie's Wood Finish range, the Lasanta begins with Glenmorangie's giraffe high stills, which yield a deliciously delicate and fruity spirit. It then matures in bourbon and sherry casks for 12 years, transforming into a mouth watering odyssey bursting with rich spiciness and sun-drenched sweetness. It radiates with raisins, honeycomb and chocolate covered hazelnuts lightened by cinnamon breezes. This whisky is Dr Bill’s attempt to bottle the magic of sunset, with its endless horizon of reds, oranges and purples.

A nose enriched with toffee, ginger and dates. Smooth on the palate, the honeyed taste reveal the richness of sultanas, warm spices and Seville orange. Before a long lingering finish.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
