People sometimes call Auchentoshan's whisky 'the breakfast whisky' because of the malt's sweetness and delicacy. This Auchentoshan Single Malt Scotch Whisky undergoes maturation in three distinct cask types. Initially, the spirit matures in American Bourbon casks, then transitions to Spanish Oloroso Sherry barrels. Finally, the unique single malt is finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
Auchentoshan Three Wood is apart of the distillery's iconic, core range. This multi-award winning single malt is a rich and complex whisky with toffee and sherry flavours, whilst also maintaining the delicate sweetness of the classic distillery style.

Colour - Expect a rich, golden brown colour from this bottling. The colouring of this single malt comes from the maturation in the quality bourbon and sherry barrels. This is a new and complex colour and flavour profile is created over time.
Nose - Blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin notes are present in Auchentoshan Three Wood.
Taste - Fruit and syrup. Hazelnut with hints of cinnamon and lemon. A butterscotch sweetness adds to the overall complexity.
Finish - A fresh and fruity, smooth whisky with long lasting oaky sweetness.

1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
