In recent years, the GlenAllachie Distillers Company revived MacNair's. Industry veteran Billy Walker and his partners acquired GlenAllachie in 2017. Under Billy's leadership, the GlenAllachie Distillers Company breathed new life into the MacNair's brand.
The award-winning MacNair's Lum Reek Blended Malt Scotch Whiskies combine Single Malts from Islay and Speyside – two of the most sought-after whisky regions in Scotland. This marries both peated and unpeated spirit to create perfectly balanced and satisfyingly complex malts.
Taking inspiration from MacNair’s discovery of the delights of a dram beside a smoky peat fireplace, Billy has drawn upon his half century’s experience in blending. He's developed a recipe fit for a traditional Scottish toast too long life - 'Lang may yer lum reek'. The old Scottish saying literally meaning ‘long may your chimney smoke’. It is a traditional way to wish someone a long, healthy and prosperous life.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
