The English Whisky Company makes The Norfolk. Based out of St. George's Distillery in Roudham, Norfolk, James and Andrew Nelstrop, a father and son duo, established the distillery in 2006. The Nelstrop Family have a long history in farming, and James has a long-time ambition of opening a distillery. The company continues to be an independent, family owned business, born out of the Nelstrop families passion for single malt whisky.
Built for the sole intention of handcrafting the finest English Single Malt, at the time of the distillery's completion, it was the
England's first whisky distillery in over 100 years. The distillery was officially opened in March 2007 by King Charles III.
The English Whisky Co. offer whiskies of a wide range of flavours, the distillery produces both peated and un-peated whiskies while they also use a variety of different casks for certain releases. They have whisky maturing in their warehouses to last 40 years. Alongside the single malts, they also produce a range of whisky liqueurs.
A decade after first launching it, the decision to retire the bramble liqueur to the archives of history was taken in 2018. It is now back with a tweak to the original recipe. As delicious as ever; drink it neat or put a little in your glass of fizz. A wonderful marriage of blackberries and English single malt spirit.
