Bushmills continues to produce whiskey over 400 years later, thanks to the generations that have skillfully passed down their experience and craft.
The company was established in 1784 by Hugh Anderson, and over the years it has changed hands several times. Diageo, the largest alcoholic drinks company in the world took over in 2005. They maintained ownership until 2014, when Proximo Spirits took up ownership. As well as producing blends, Bushmills also distill single malt Irish whiskey using their copper pot stills.
Bushmills 10 Year Old is a marriage of single malts, which has matured for at least 10 years in hand selected bourbon barrels and sherry butts. A pioneering Irish single malt whisky which is zesty and fresh on the nose. Followed by notes of ripe fruit with creamy vanilla and soft toasted wood.

Colour - Amber gold.
Nose - There's initial accents of zesty citrus fruits on the nose, which intertwine with the distinctive Bushmills honey character, followed by a lingering sweet aroma of fresh vanilla and creamy milk chocolate.
Taste - On the palate, you'll find mellow sweet notes of vanilla, milk chocolate and fresh honeysuckle married with delicate traces of toasted oak.
Finish - A crisp finish that dwindles gently on the palate.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
