Laphroaig is a legendary distillery on the Isle of Islay. Founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston, it is very much a love it or hate it whisky having a very medicinal peaty and smoky flavour. Beam Suntory currently owns Laphroaig, and the distillery produces over three million litres of alcohol each year.
It proudly holds the Royal Warrant of King Charles III, personally bestowed upon it during his visit to the distillery in 1994 when he held the title of Prince of Wales.
Laphroaig 10 Years Old Cask Strength is presented in its purest form. Offering an unadulterated taste shaped by the land, sea, and air of Islay. Aged for 10 years in charred ex-Bourbon barrels, it undergoes barrier filtration solely to remove char particles from the cask, with no further processing.
Laphroaig has avoided chill-filtering and dilution, preserving the whisky’s natural strength. Each bottle is filled straight from the barrel. This has captured the essence of charred, seasoned oak, signature blue peat smoke, and nutty barley for a truly natural Islay whisky experience. This bottling embodies the classic 10 Year Old with pronounced character and a 58.5% proof point.

Colour - Vibrant yellow gold.
Nose - Sweet, stewed apples topped with crispy, slightly caramelized pastry. Underpinned by hints of cereal, tanned leather and vanilla.
Palate - Upfront sweet and spicy notes. Vanilla and sea salt intermingled with savoury notes of pork crackling with hints of freshly ground black pepper.
Finish - Long, warming finish with notes of gentle spice, charred oak, smoked mackerel and sea salt encapsulated in an oily mouthfeel.

Tasting Rating Guide
1: Light, good for beginners - an aperitif on a summers day, i.e. Glengoyne, Auchentoshan
2: Also good for beginners but with more depth and body - a little stronger than 1, ie. Glenmorangie, Speyburn
3: A dram for everyone, a little more complex so the palate requires a little more experience, i.e. Cragganmore, Macallan
4: A stronger spirit, a big whisky with lots of character and body, excellent after dinner, i.e. Lagavulin, Laphroaig
